We are pleased to share our brand new Quality Summary Document, prepared with our valued customers in mind. With the goal of "doing business smarter," Kraft has taken a new approach to answering so many of the important questions you may have about Kraft Quality Systems. We have thoroughly reviewed hundreds of surveys from the last few years and compiled a comprehensive response tool that offers a quick answer to your inquiries and allows our resources to focus on continuously improving the Quality products we deliver to you as our customer.

The purpose of this interactive document is to provide our U.S. and Canadian customers with an overview of our quality programs. It is a resource providing valuable information that is often requested via contact with our Sales force. This information is not intended to eliminate any requirements that may be set forth in any contracts or product specifications issued by any Kraft Foods unit. If your need for information should go beyond content in this document, please contact your Sales representative.

Allergen Controls

Does Kraft have an Allergen Program in place?

Yes, Kraft Foods has effective programs in place to evaluate, identify and control food allergens to assure that specific allergens are not incorporated as an undeclared component of any product. For each product, all ingredients are thoroughly reviewed including ingredient components, processing aids and in the production process to determine whether there are or may be any allergens present in the product.

Yes, Kraft Foods conducts quality audits covering general quality, microbiological, safety, and environmental systems, procedures and compliance.  All Kraft Foods Manufacturing and food handling facilities have documented procedures for internal quality audits to verify that actual quality activities and related results comply with documented procedures.

Does Kraft provide certifications of key product attributes?

Yes, Kraft has a multi-level and departmental approval process for all specifications, procedures and policies. A Quality Assurance function centrally controls all documents. Electronic distribution through a common computerized specification system assures up-to-date documents are in place.  Key certifications and documents include:

Certificate of Analysis

Can Kraft issue a Certificate of Analysis with each shipment?

Kraft does not routinely issue Certificates of Analysis for each lot code shipped to customers. Kraft maintains a strong, effective food safety system of quality programs including HACCP and environmental testing controls are in place and monitored assuring samples meet prescribed parameters. The exception is for Kraft Food Ingredients Customers and request for COA must be given with each order at the time the order is placed.
